NAVI and Vitality set for grand final showdown: BLAST Rivals Fort Worth semi-finals recap
The battle is raging on in Fort Worth, but it seems that our run of upset victories has finally come to an end.
A day in which both favourites prevailed, it wasn’t easy for either of them, with NAVI needing to hold off a comeback and Vitality requiring overtime for both teams to secure their place in the final.
NAVI prevent FaZe’s Ancient comeback
FaZe have been the stars of BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, but NAVI proved to be a bridge too far as they bowed out with a 2-0 defeat.
NAVI got the series off to an incredible start, dominating on Dust2 to win 13-5. w0nderful continued his fine form, he was a defensive rock on the CT side and an unstoppable force on the T side, ending the map with an 18-10 statline.
NAVI kept their momentum going into Ancient, pulling off a 9-3 T half thanks to the combined 23 frags of b1t and makazze.
However, FaZe did start to fight back, and soon found themselves in the lead at 10-9 as a result of clutches and big plays from Twistzz, broky, and Neityu. Ultimately, NAVI were too strong, though, and they won four of the next five rounds to seal the map at 13-11.
Overpass overtime seals another grand final for Vitality
Vitality, who had looked shaky up until the semi-finals, quickly put any doubt to rest on Mirage.
The French organisation dominated, powered forward by their sniping talisman, with ZywOo putting up a monster 21-3 performance to help his team to a 13-1 win.
GamerLegion did turn up for the second map, forcing an overtime thanks to another strong showing from Snax, but there’s a reason why Vitality are the world’s number one, and they proved it as they took the series at 16-14.
