UPDATE: The Huns will replace ATOX Esports at this month's BLAST Premier Lisbon Open. ATOX are currently subject to a provisional suspension from all ESIC Member events.
Set to be the next chapter in an already exciting and unpredictable year of Counter-Strike, BLAST Open Lisbon soon approaches.
Set to kick off on March 19th, 12 of the best teams in the world will meet with four dangerous underdogs, with each of the 16 teams looking to be crowned Open champions and claim the lion's share of the $400,00 prize pool.
The 16 teams will first do battle at the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen, split into two eight-team, double-elimination groups, leading to a six-team playoff in Lisbon.
Those teams have now been seeded via the official Valve rankings, the groups decided, and the opening matches set, so let's get into them.
The seeding and groups have set us up for some spicy opening matches, including a rematch of the PGL Cluj-Napoca final, as well as a Mongolian derby.
Group A's opening matches will be played on March 19th, while Group B will kick off the following day, March 20th. All times for the games are in CET.
