MOUZ capitalise on out of sorts Spirit to win first trophy of 2026: BLAST Bounty Season 2 2026 grand final recap
xertioN may be new to IGLing, but despite that, he’s just led his MOUZ team to a first trophy of 2026t with a convincing win over Team Spirit in the grand final.
A strong display from MOUZ, they were carried throughout by the monstrous 78-38 performance from Spinx, but their biggest success was successfully limiting donk to a 58-65 statline over the four maps played.
After the game, we caught up with xertioN to discuss how the emotions of winning a trophy changes as the team’s captain, the two young stars on the team, and whether or not MOUZ’s goals for the season have changed following the win.

Congratulations on the win. How are you feeling?
I'm feeling great. The hard work has paid off here, and Spirit have beaten us so many times very convincingly, so to finally beat them in a convincing fashion is a big step up. I'm really happy, especially for the young guys in the team.
Given the rebuild you guys have gone through, does that make this trophy feel different to the ones you have won in the past?
Maybe, yeah. It's the first tournament with PR, so it feels great to win with him already. We did the same with Spinx when he first joined, so we definitely have a good trend there. I hope this time we can maintain it and keep winning trophies, but this is just a small step in the direction we want to head. There's a lot of work ahead.
You're still new to IGLing, so what does this win mean to you as a new captain?
It means a lot more, I would say. I have a lot more responsibility and a lot more impact on how we play, so when we win I feel it on myself, and the same for when we lose.
I've felt the losses we've had hard because I'm very competitive, but it feels great to finally win and to lead the team to the victory. We lost some bad rounds, but I managed to maintain a calm head and lead the guys to the win. I'm proud of myself.
What are you hoping xelex and PR get out of this win given their relative inexperience?
I think the two young guns are doing a great job right now of putting in the effort every day, and of course, they each have their own problems, but they both have so many great qualities they bring to the team, especially when they play their own game.
We need to find the balance between giving them a lot of input and also having them just be themselves, be those young kids who just run and headshot.
I'm really proud of them; they're doing great work. If they keep it up, the sky's the limit not only for them, but for this team.
Looking ahead to the rest of the season, has the win here changed the goals or expectations at all?
I wouldn't say so. We came here wanting to see where we stand, and yeah, the way we stand is a 3-1 convincing win against Spirit in a grand final. I don't think they played their best today, but I think we made it extremely difficult for them to do so.
I don't think it means we're a top-three team again, but it means we had a good run of games, and it could go bad or good from here. We did our best, and we won.
