We knew PARIVISION would have been strong after their run in the Bujdapest Major, but we never could have predicted this.
Jame's boys took down FURIA today, a completely unexpected victory as FalleN and co. slumped across the two maps played.
The day began with a different underdog win, though, as the depleted Falcons took on Major champions, Vitality.
Kicking off on Inferno, the series began with a masterclass from the Falcons IGL kysxan, who dropped a 1.49 rating thanks to his solid impact on both sides. mezii and flameZ managed to keep it close with strong rounds of their own, but it still wasn't enough for Vitality as they fell 13-10 on their own map pick.
However, they rallied on Anubis. A dominant win for them after another strong performance from their Israeli entry, flameZ fired them to a 9-3 T side lead, which was easily converting to a 13-4 win in the second half.
But Falcons came back swinging, and as both NiKo and stand-in NucleonZ shone brightly, their team put up a brcik wall on the CT side, taking an 11-1 lead into the break. Vitality tried to mount a comeback, they won five CT rounds of their own, but the gap was too large and Falcons took the series win with the score 13-6.
We were back on Mirage for the opening game of PARIVSION vs FURIA, and although the Brazilians quickly found themselves with a 6-0 lead, PARIVSION rallied to keep the score level at halftime.
That comeback clearly threw FURIA. They were hopeless on the CT side as PARIVISION put up a wall, restricting them to just two more rounds for the remainder of the map.
FURIA kept pushing on, though, and on Inferno they managed to take a narrow 7-5 lead from their CT side. But, just like on Mirage, it was PARIVISION who pushed that little bit harder, taking the map 13-11 as zweih topfragged on 21 kills.
