It's almost time to get tier one Counter-Strike underway for the year, and we'll be kicking it all off with BLAST Bounty.
Following an exciting draft, the opening matches have now been decided, and some teams went for incredibly spicy picks as they look to snatch away the prize pool from some of the biggest teams in the world.
Before we look at those, though, let's go back over the BLAST Bounty format to make sure there's no confusion for you guys watching at home.
BLAST Bounty is a unique tournament on the Counter-Strike calendar, where the 16 highest-ranked teams in the world suddenly have a target on their backs, ready to be hunted down by underdogs that want to claim the bounty on their opponents' heads.
That means the lower-ranked teams get to pick their opponents, choosing the perfect team to take down and ultimately add a bounty to their own heads.
The bounties are as follows:
After each round of play, there is another draft process, letting the lower-ranked teams left in the competition once again try to find a target best suited to them. Whether it's for stylistic, VRS, or prize pool reasons, there's a lot of tactical thinking that goes into that draft pick.
