Astralis and Imperial have already both qualified for BLAST Open thanks to their regional BLAST Rising events, and now a third team has joined their ranks.
ATOX, Mongolia's second-highest rated team are the team to have claimed bragging rights over their regional rivals, doing so by beating some of the strongest teams in their region.
ATOX began their run with a win against Rooster, a game that they won with a 2-1 scoreline.
Having to fight back from an overtime defeat on Mirage, the Mongolians dominated the next two maps, winning Inferno 13-3 and Dust2 13-6. MiQ was the star in the series, putting up an incredible 68 frags to secure it for his team.
A win placed ATOX into a match against one of the best Chinese teams in the world, Rare Atom. ATOX continued their dominance, winning map one with another 13-6 scoreline.
However, despite that dominance on map one, Rare Atom bounced back with a 13-8 win on Inferno thanks to 22 kills from L1haNg. Still, despite L1haNg's strong performance on map two, he was powerless to prevent a 13-10 ATOX victory on the final map, Ancient.
The grand final was fought against another Mongolian team, The Huns. ATOX's most comfortable series of the event, they won it with a 2-0 scoreline.
Map one, Nuke, was won 13-3, with all five members of ATOX ending the map with a positive K/D. Map two, Inferno, was a closer contest, but 25 kills from Zesta saw ATOX secure their spot in BLAST Open Lisbon with a 13-9 win.
