BLAST Premier World Final 2024 is now underway and we've already got one huge upset on our hands.
In the tournament's opening game, Astralis faced the world's number one team, NAVI. A match that no one expected them to win, they did so in a dominant fashion, taking down NAVI in two maps with two 13-6 scorelines.
Let's take a look at the action.
Look away jL, this one wasn't great for you.
Astralis started off dominant as they opened the game with a 5-1 lead, and this miscommunication between b1t and iM was a real sign of what was still to come in the series for NAVI.
7-5 in favour of the Danes at the half, they then extended that lead on their T side thanks to an incredible 3k from stavn on the A site.
He then came up big on the B site, pulling off a 1v2 to take us to 10-5.
In fact, NAVI only managed one more round for the remainder of the game, stavn's 22 frags were enough to give Astralis their dominant victory.
From one 7-5 half to the next, Astralis were once again in the driving seat as the first half of Mirage came to a close.
jabbi was the main man on that CT side, his 14 kills were enough to give Astralis their lead.
He kept it up on the T side too as he picked up two MAC-10 kills through a smoke to secure series point for his side.
An incredible performance by the Danes, jabbi's 26 kills weren't enough to take him above stavn on the scoreboard for the series.
