Here at BLAST we're showmatch specialists, and our showmatch for BLAST Premier World Final 2023 was one for the ages.
Featuring stars from one of the best teams in India, True Rippers Esports, and one of the best teams in Pakistan, Team WahWah, we drafted in some of our World Final stars for an incredible grudge match on the World Final stage in Abu Dhabi.
A showmatch crrafted to celebrate the launch of The Draft, a tournament in which legends of Counter-Strike will be drafted into team's from India and Pakistan, this was a showmatch like no other, and a taste of what's to come in 2024.
A legendary rivalry
Speaking of World Final stars, semi-finalist Jimpphat got off to a rough start as he managed to die to himself.
A rough start for Pakistan, it put a smile on the face of Team India star, Perfecto.
It was Perfecto's Team India that started off best, and a large part of that was down to the Russian's incredible combat AWPing down in the Canals.
We think Cloud9 have found their new AWPer.
Team Pakistan then attempted to become pilots to destroy India, but it turns out that TeSeS is an aerial ace and his XM10 play saw him knock Jimpphat out of the sky before sealing the round against Executor.
With Pakistan trailing by just two rounds, the hyper-speed round looked like a perfect chance for them to get back into the game.
They rushed A and quickly got themselves a plant, but their hunger for kills led them to forget the fact they had to actually defend the bomb and Rossi snuck a defuse.
A formality from that moment onwards, Team India claimed a 13-8 victory and were crowned the World Final showmatch champions.
