In a sensational move that has shocked the Counter-Strike scene this morning, Virtus.pro has signed Major-winner electroNic from Cloud9.
The former NAVI player replaces mir on the Virtus.pro lineup, with both players only joining their former teams in July of last year.
In a statement on Virtus.pro's website, electroNic said "Virtus.pro is a top team... I'm also excited about the idea of playing with Jame, as he's one of the most unique IGLs in the game. Can't wait to adapt to my new team and start doing what I came here for — winning trophies."
electroNic brings with him a wealth of experience to an already Major-winning core.
An Intel Grand Slam winner with NAVI, he also won the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, the first Major back after the online era as a result of COVID-19.
Since joining Cloud9 in July, electroNic has been one of the best players on a team that was otherwise struggling due to a lack of a true AWPer.
His best placings with the team were 5th-6th at IEM Cologne 2023 and 5th-8th at the recent PGL Major Copenhagen.
Virtus.pro will be disappointed with their form thus far in 2024. They were eliminated before the playoffs at the first CS2 Major and failed to reach the main event of IEM Katowice 2024.
Virtus.pro fans won't have to wait long to see their new star in action. He will make his debut at ESL Pro League Season 19 in Group A on April 23rd.
