The third game of day one was a rematch of the BLAST.tv Paris Major grand final as Vitality took on vast underdogs, GamerLegion.
This time around it was far closer than in the final CS:GO major, with Vitality needing all three maps and an overtime in order to get the better of a young GamerLegion squad.
Anubis appeared to be an odd pick by GamerLegion considering Vitality's strengths on the map but we were soon proved wrong as the young guns secured a 13-10 win.
A hard fought victory, it could have been a lot more comfortable had aNdu managed to pull of this 1v2 in round eight.
The rounds continued to be agonisingly close for GamerLegion, they almost managed to steal a round away but ztr needed just a fraction of a second longer in order to do so.
Vitality managed to level the scores in round 18 thanks to ZywOo and apEX mopping up GamerLegion's attack outside A.
GamerLegion retook the lead and almost put themselves in touching distance of the map thanks to this near-1v2 from ztr, but it wasn't meant to be.
The young guns didn't need to worry for too long, though. They wrapped up the game not long after thanks to the strong performances of their unit.
GamerLegion kept up their momentum heading into Mirage, aNdu picked up three clean headshots in the opening round.
They kept pushing and opened up a 5-2 lead and fortune looked to be tipping the map even more in their favour as Spinx's HE prevented him from hearing aNdu sticking the bomb defusal.
However, it was the BLAST.tv Paris Major winners that hit map point first, and it took an incredible 2v4 from aNdu and sl3nd to help force the extra rounds.
As was the story of the series, things got close again for GamerLegion as mezii exploited a gap in their offense to prevent the bomb being planted and won the opening round of overtime.
That didn't mean OT would be easy for Vitality, FL4MUS cooked ZywOo, Spinx, and apEX in Mid.
19-17 the final score in favour of Vitality, the momentum gained would be key in the final map.
Given how the previous two maps went, we thought we would be watching this game all night, but this ZywOo ace on round two proved things would be different in the decider.
The French superstar had been underperforming by his standards up to that point, but he ended the first half with a 19-2 statline.
GamerLegion tried to mount a comeback but the deficit proved to be too large and the game ended 13-5 after flameZ shone to secure map point.
