Team Vitality looked unstoppable in their first game of BLAST Premier World Final as they comfortably pushed past NAVI in two.
Englishman mezii topped the charts for Vitality as he looked settled and in fine form, while iM fought in vain to stop the reign of terror.
iM picked up 35 kills over the two maps, but saw his teammates unable to join him, with NAVI falling flat after a good start to map one, and ending the series without picking up double figures on either map.
NAVI flew out of the blocks early on Anubis, but once Vitality started winning rounds, the game became a formality.
Vitality won 11/12 rounds after going down 1-4 to put themselves on the brink of winning, including a 2v4 retake that they had no right to win down the stretch.
iM and w0nderful both resisted, but the unstoppable wave of Vitality eventually swept both away as Vitality picked up a 13-8 win with relative ease.
Vitality were simply too much for NAVI on Overpass as they collected nine rounds on their T side to set up a comfortable finish.
mezii was at the forefront of everything good Vitality did, and it's testament to how easy they made this series look that ZywOo was largely quiet in both maps.
NAVI found their way to a second round when w0nderful pulled off a swift double in the 1v2, decapitating a swinging mezii as he attempted to trade, but that was a fleeting moment in an otherwise miserable time for NAVI.
Every time it seemed like NAVI were getting their foot in the door, it was slammed shut on their toes. Spinx ripped open the B site with two headshots as the CTs failed to clear sandbags on short, and it felt like the game was slipping away.
NAVI began to mount a comeback with the first three on the T side, but Vitality were insatiable and waltzed to a clean 13-6 win to close out the serise.
