We're just under a month away from BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 and that means it's qualifier season.
Ten of the Spring Showdown teams were decided by those who fell down from Spring Groups, but the final six will be decided by qualifiers all across the globe.
Four of those qualifiers have already taken place, so let's take a look at the four teams that have booked their place at Spring Showdown as a result.
An Asia team bolstered by European talent, Rare Atom will be making their triumphant return to tier one CS thanks to a great run at the 5E Arena Asia Cup.
Despite losing their opening match vs ATOX after two overtimes, Rare Atom battled back to advance from their group, beating Lynn Vision and NKT in the process.
Their playoff games would see them face TYLOO and GR, two teams they overcame with 2-0 scorelines. phzy was the star in both, he wracked up 93 kills across the four maps to put the entire world on notice.
Typically regarded as the best team in Portugal, SAW suffered a surprise defeat to AL QATRAO in their opening game. Like Rare Atom, they bounced back, taking down Agency and then AL QATRAO in a conclusive rematch.
Due to that opening loss, their semi-final was to be played against KOI, the team SAW have battled against for the title of the best in Iberia in the last couple of years. A hard-fought match, despite dav1g's best efforts, SAW came out on top with a 2-1 scoreline.
Their final match saw them play Rhyno, a match they won decisively with a 2-0 scoreline. ewjerkz starred in the match, he was determined to make sure his team secured their spot at Spring Showdown.
The NA qualifier saw a huge underdog book their spot at Spring Showdown as Timbermen beat a host of the region's best teams.
Advancing from their group following a win against BOSS and a gruelling overtime victory against Nouns, Timbermen would then beat NRG 2-1 in their semi-final match.
Following that, they would qualify for Spring Showdown with another 2-1 victory, this time against Wildcard. A new face to the BLAST Premier circuit, we can't wait to see how they handle their debut next month.
The final team to qualify for Spring Showdown thus far is no stranger to the BLAST Premier circuit, Imperial.
Semi-finalists at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023 needed three matches to escape their group following a loss against 9z and two wins over BESTIA.
In the playoff games, they beat MIBR 2-1 before taking down 9z 2-0 in a rematch in the final. Set to be the sole South American representation at Spring Showdown, we're sure Imperial will bring their magic to the BLAST Premier circuit once more.
Fourteen of the sixteen spots at Spring Showdown are now taken, and the final two spots will be decided in the West and East Europe qualifiers later this month.
The West Europe qualifier runs from 9th-11th February, while the East Europe qualifier is set for 16th-18th February.
