Vitality on fire as they take down FaZe in two to reach semi finals
The game of the day, Vitality took on FaZe in our second quarter final at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023.
The reigning Major champions may have struggled in their opening game against Imperial, but now they're warmed up in the server, they showed why they were ale to win a Major without dropping a map.
With a close map one and a blowout in map two, let's get into the action.
Vitality clinch overtime on Anubis
Map one was a bloodbath, and, as is now often the case when big teams face off on Anubis, it required an overtime to decide a victor.
Vitality's map pick, any potential advantage pre-game mattered for little when they got into the server as both teams won their CT halves 8-7.
ZywOo shone for Vitality as he typically does, while Twistzz and broky were the stars for FaZe to make up for the kill defecit created by karrigan and rain.
Ultimately, in the overtime, it was Vitality's T side that managed to secure them the victory. Two wins in the opening two rounds of the overtime turned the tide in their favour, and they closed the map 19-17.

With a victory in their map pick firmly under their belt, Vitality went into FaZe's pick of Mirage with bags of confidence.
Their CT side was strong, winning out the half with a 9:6 scoreline. Spinx shone in his new spot on short, while ZywOo also continued to provide the goods.
Moving onto T side, Vitality became unstoppable. After winning pistol and the subsequent conversion round, Vitality continued to display their strengths with solid gun round displays and clean entries from dupreeh.
Ending with a 16-8 scoreline, it marks another strong performance against an elite team for Vitality, and yet another disappointing tournament exit for FaZe.

FaZe's season might be over, but Vitality will be back tomorrow to fight on for a dominant end to their season. Having won the previous two tournaments they attended, G2 are the next team to stand in their way as they will face off in the semi-finals.
