Spirit take down OG to open Fall Groups with a win
On paper, Spirit vs OG is one of the more one-sided match ups we have at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 but the game didn't pan out quite that way.
Map one was a whitewash as expected, but OG put up a valiant fight on map two to make Mirage far closer.
Spirit dominate Dust2
OG started strong on Dust2 as they looked to be in a good position to take the pistol round but stand-in IGL Thomas lost in the 1v1.
It was comfortable for Spirit from that point onward, and it only took two more rounds for sh1ro to pick up the first ace of the event as he shut down an OG eco from Short.
There was more fun for Spirit just a few rounds later, donk surprised himself as he got a second kill in blink-and-you-miss-it fashion.
The Spring Final winners continued their barn-storming start to the series and took the map 13-3.
Spirit clinch Mirage
With momentum fully behind them, Spirit again started strong with a 2-0 lead. However, OG got themselves on the board far faster in map two as they won round round three.
They managed to keep the half competitive too, limiting Spirit to just a 7-5 lead at the half.
Thomas wasn't having fun playing against donk though, they had this very fun interaction that we got to see thanks to our new in-game chat feature.
OG took the lead thanks to three rounds off the back of a second half pistol win, however, they were powerless to stop zont1x and his 16-8 CT side as the young Ukrainian pushed his team to a 13-9 win.
