Spirit advanced straight to the semi-finals here at BLAST Premier Spring Final presented by Revolut with wins over G2 and Virtus.pro.
The IEM Katowice winners now await a tough match against Vitality in the semi-finals, and we spoke to magixx about whether having the day off is an advantage or not.
You picked up a good win against VP, how are you feeling?
I'm feeling great, it's cool to make the playoffs and be straight through to the semis. I hope that we won't be too shaky as we were in Dallas after not experiencing the quarters, but a win is a win.
Do you think skipping the quarter-finals is an issue then?
It definitely is, it doesn't help any team because when you start in the semis you face a team that has experienced victory on that specific stage and in front of that specific crowd and they're more used to it as a result.
It means you have to spend the first few rounds getting used to it because it's very different to the studio.
I guess as well it's you paying the price for being so good because it would be especially good for donk and zont1x to get more stage experience.
Exactly that, yes.
What will you do before the game in the semis?
We're going to wait for the results of the quarter-finals and see who the next opponent is. Before that, we'll play some practice games and pugs to stay warm.
You started out the season strong with a win at Katowice, what would it mean to end the season strong with a win here?
It would be great because you can't wish for a better thing before the player break. I hope we can maintain our form from the studio.
