SAW battled hard at BLAST Premier Spring Final presented by Revolut but unfortunately, it just wasn't to be.
Following their elimination after tough games against FaZe and Astralis, we spoke to their captain MUTiRiS about their losses and the hopes for the rest of the year.
A tough loss for you, how are you feeling straight afterwards?
It feels really bad to be destroyed like that, but I think we were just overthinking in so many situations.
It's really bad to play when everyone is uncomfortable. We deserved to lose. They were the best team on the server.
It felt like there were some gaps you could have exploited, why did you not manage to take advantage of those mistakes?
I didn't feel that we were on point in the server. It's not an excuse and I don't want it to seem that way, but some of us are a bit sick so maybe that didn't help.
We just didn't perform as we wanted. I'm just sad we performed like that because before the tournament we wanted to face these teams and get a good result but I think we just had a good half against FaZe and after that, we just fell apart. We weren't on the level to play these teams.
As you said, this event was a learning experience for you, so what can you take from this event?
It was a great experience, but our dream was to play on the big stage. When we come to these events, everything is usually in a studio, so it would be amazing to feel something different.
Of course, we needed to win a game and we couldn't do that, so I'm really sad. I just wanted to be in front of the crowd and feel the pressure. Only getting to play in a studio just makes it a normal tournament.
What are your plans now? Will you go and see London?
I think we just need to rest. I don't think anyone on the team wants to play CS now. The player break has now begun for us, so we just want to enjoy a bit of London and then go to our homes and a nice vacation.
Where do you want to be at the end of next season?
Looking at at the big picture of the end of the season, I want to be at the Major again, that's what we'll be working hard towards.
The most important thing is that when the next season starts we need to do a bootcamp or two because at the end of this season, people were beginning to feel a little overwhelmed and we didn't have the energy we wanted.
We just need to rest and after that, we need to give it our all. That's what we were doing until now but we are here and we are at like 10% because we're just not playing at the level we were before.
It's a learning experience, and we just need to make sure we keep learning and enjoying.
