BLAST Premier Fall Final roster lock is fast approaching and team news is dropping constantly.
First up today it was the shock announcement that sh1ro is stepping down from Cloud9, but now regional rivals NAVI have potentially trumped that.
In a move no one saw coming, the greatest of all time s1mple has announced that he will take a step back from NAVI.
Having served as the face of the organisation since 2016, it will be the first time he is not part of the active roster since joining from Team Liquid.
s1mple has won all there is to win during his time with NAVI, including a Major and an Intel Grand Slam.
Having been crowned as the best player in the world three times by HLTV, s1mple will be impossible for NAVI to replace. That being said, HLTV are reporting that NAVI are targeting Sprout's Ukrainian sniper w0nderful, who previously had a spell with Team Spirit.
s1mple, who has two years left on his contract with NAVI, made his announcement via Twitter.
"So what’s next, time to take break as I wanted but that’s only half of story.
Need to fix documents and take care of other people in my life.
About switching to other org : never thought about it but would be interesting to see offers, maybe on rifle since awp a bit not impactful in new game.
While nothing decided yet I hope you still gonna cheer for boys in upcoming tournaments," s1mple posted on X.
The most interesting part there is that he has said he is open to some offers, and more importantly, as a rifler.
The other thing worth noting is his statement that he "needs to fix documents"; this comes after he missed IEM Sydney because of missing EU residency papers.
We hope the GOAT is back in the server and lighting up our screens soon, as otherwise this is a sad loss very early into CS2's lifespan.
