OG and Astralis may not have yet locked horns on the server at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024, but they have in the transfer market.
The Danish organisation has announced that OG's coach, ruggah, will join them "no later than April 1st" when his contract with his current organisation expires.
Until then, assistant coach R0nic will continue to be behind the players during games, just as he has been thus far at Spring Groups.
ruggah is no stranger to tier one CS, alongside OG he has also coached organisations such as OpTic and former Astralis rivals, North.
He joined OG back in 2020, not long after the organisation arrived in CS. Since joining, he has coached OG to their first Major, IEM Rio 2022, and was also there for their semi-final runs At BLAST Premier Spring and World Finals in 2022.
He also won Dreamhack Open Summer 2019 with OpTic and Dreamhack Open Montreal 2017 with North.
The two teams had very different experiences yesterday at Spring Groups.
OG lost 13-0 in map one to Vitality, fighting valiantly on map two as they were defeated 13-7 to fall down into the lower bracket of Group A.
As for Astralis, they will now face Vitality thanks to a 2-0 victory against the debuting Falcons.
If Astralis lose in their next match against Vitality and OG beat Falcons, they two teams will play each other in the consolidation final of Group A.
Kicking us off today is the winner's match of Group C, set to be played between G2 and NAVI. NAVI survived a tight game against Complexity while G2 looked comfortable versus NIP.
As a result of those two games, Complexity will face NIP to keep their BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 hopes alive.
As stated, the remaining two games of the day will be Astralis vs Vitality and OG vs Falcons.
