NIP's failure to qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen saw them make big changes to their team with k0nfig, es3tag, and headtr1ck all being benched alongside the team's former coach, djL.
The organisation has subsequently signed Xizt to fill that coaching berth, and today they have announced the first player joining alex and REZ will be maxster.
maxster, who is being promoted from their Young Ninjas academy team, has impressed in recent months. He has a 1.24 HLTV rating so far in 2024.
The promotion of maxster marks the first time that NIP have officially promoted a player from their academy team to the main roster. phzy, ztr, and LNZ have all previously spent extended time with the main team, although they all did so as stand-ins.
maxster arrives on the team as one of the hottest prospects in Swedish Counter-Strike today. Alongside avid, nilo, and phzy, the 19-year-old is one of a handful of players leading a renaissance for one of Counter-Strike's most legendary regions.
maxster already has experience in top-level CS. He was part of the NIP team that played in BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 and did themselves proudly despite falling 2-0 to HEROIC in the opening round.
The arrival of the young Swede ushers in a new beginning for NIP, one their fans have every reason to be excited for. His first event on the main team will be the Skyesports Masters 2024. The first LAN event will be ESL Pro League Season 19.
