NIP may have only formed their lineup just before the BLAST Premier Fall season in October 2023, but they are now set to make huge changes following elimination from the RMR event for the PGL Copenhagen Major.
The legendary organisation suffered three straight losses at the event, falling to Eternal Fire, AMKAL, and SAW.
A disappointing result - and it means that they will miss the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major despite featuring in five consecutive Major grand finals in the early years of CS:GO.
In an open letter released via Twitter, NIP said:
"When the team finally came together after BLAST Fall finals and got to practice as five, results were very promising. We saw steady improvement in pre-season, and went into the RMR with a mix of confidence and hope."
However, they go on further by saying
"Today, we’re introducing further changes to help us tackle two other factors of team performance: consistency and how we utilize the AWP."
Departing the team is k0nfig, headtr1ck, and es3tag, as well as coach djL. While the team looks for long-term replacements, Counter-Strike legend THREAT will be acting as coach, and a trio of players from Young Ninjas will stand in for the main team.
Standing in will be maxster, silence, and BluePho3nix, who will all play for NIP during BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024.
A huge opportunity for them, we look forward to seeing how they will handle the step up next month.
