NAVI have become the first-ever champions of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after defeating G2 2-1 in a thrilling final.
It is the second $1,000,000+ prize pool event NAVI have won this year after winning the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in April.
b1t won the HLTV MVP award for the event, a career first for him after his previous best performances came in the shadow of the GOAT, s1mple.
NAVI had a tough route to their victory in the World Cup, taking on FURIA, FaZe, MOUZ, and G2 in the final. They only dropped two maps in that run, one to MOUZ and one to G2.
What makes that even more impressive is that the loss to MOUZ was a 13-1 drubbing on Dust2, however, they bounced back in dominant fashion with a 13-8 and a 13-5.
As part of their victory and some of the more unique features of the Esports World Cup, NAVI got to chose three keys belonging to other teams at the event.
The honour of selecting those keys was given to their captain Aleksib, and he chose their playoff opponents FaZe, MOUZ, and G2.
For winning the event, NAVI take home $400,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points, boosting the Ukrainian organisation to third in the standings.
