NAVI have endured a tough run of results since winning the first CS2 Major but they looked to be putting that all behind them with a confident showing in their opening match of BLAST Premier Spring Final presented by Revolut.
A confident 2-0 victory over Astralis, NAVI captain Aleksib was reserved when we asked him about NAVI's feelings heading into the game.
"We were and we weren't feeling confident coming into the game." - Aleksib
However, his mood changed when we asked him about what it meant to get the win and he was rather buoyant in his response.
Nuke started with a strong T side from Astralis, with desperate plays from iM really summing up the opening rounds for NAVI.
NAVI managed to find a way back into the game through strong performances from b1t, iM, and w0nderful - including one of the most bizarre kills we've ever seen as b1t chased stavn up a ladder.
Eventually closing out the map 13-11 as stavn failed to complete a 1v2 clutch on the A site, iM ended the game as the top fragger with 21 kills.
NAVI continued their momentum into map two with a 7-5 T side, but Astralis quickly levelled the scores thanks to a pistol round win.
Despite that win, NAVI quickly turned the tides back in their favour and would have closed out the map a round earlier if not for this extremely messy round on the B site.
With the game ending 13-9, NAVI now look ahead to a tough match against FaZe in the group final.
"The next match is going to be twice as tough, but it's good to get this win under our belts. Anything can happen, we just need to show up with a good face and trust our game." - Aleksib
