Everyone who plays Counter-Strike wants to be an AWPer.
They're the star of the team, make the flashiest plays, and get the most expensive gun to take with them into battle.
Not only that, but the biggest stars in the game also happen to be AWPers. s1mple, m0NESY, and ZywOo have all made their names by wielding the big green, and plenty more stars will start to shine thanks to the weapon too.
Another thing all Counter-Strike fans desire to have is the nicest skins in the game. Unfortunately, some of those come at a great cost.
So, with that in mind, if you're lucky enough to have the money to spare, what are the most expensive AWP skins in CS2?
For many years, it was hard to think that anything could replace the AWP Dragon Lore as the most expensive AWP skin in Counter-Strike.
However, in November 2019 when the Norse Collection was added to the game, the striking AWP Gungnir managed to dethrone the Dragon Lore and become the most expensive AWP skin in Counter-Strike.
A gun that looks even more beautiful thanks to the graphical upgrades to CS2, it features a bright blue body that is adorned with a white, Nordic design that represents the spear of Odin.
A factory-new AWP Gungnir will cost £9,550.
As stated earlier, the AWP Dragon Lore used to be the most expensive AWP skin in CS:GO.
Despite being overtaken by the AWP Gungnir, the value of the AWP Dragon Lore continues to rise thanks to the removal of Cobblestone from the Valve Competitive Map Pool. As a result of its removal, it no longer drops at Majors from the Cobblestone Souvenir Collection and, therefore, has become increasingly rare.
A factory-new AWP Dragon Lore costs £9,500.
Added to the game in 2019 as part of the Canals Collection, the AWP The Prince is now the third most expensive AWP skin in CS2.
The body is red and features a golden design. It also has a Latin inscription that reads "Pax tibi Marce, evangelista meus," which translates to "Peace be with you, Mark, my evangelist," befitting the Venetian theme of the skin.
A factory-new AWP The Prince costs £3,150.
The Fade weapon skin is one of the most iconic in Counter-Strike. It is featured on both the AWP and the Glock-18 as well as many knives and even Gloves.
The AWP Fade places at number four on our list of the most expensive AWP skins, although it is worth noting that the price can vary greatly based on the float of the skin.
This is because the float of a Fade skin drastically impacts the appearance of the gun, and different types of Fades are viewed as more desirable than others.
A factory-new AWP Fade starts at £2,700.
Back before the additions of the AWP Gungnir and the AWP The Prince, there was only one other AWP skin that could ever hope to challenge the AWP Dragon Lore for the title of 'most expensive in Counter-Strike' - the AWP Medusa.
The AWP Medusa, just like the AWP Gungnir, gets its name and design from mythology. However, while the Gungnir is based on Norse mythology, the Medusa is based on Greek Mythology.
Everyone knows the story of Medusa, and the Gorgon is depicted in her full, terrifying glory towards the stock of this skin. The rest of the gun is a plain blue.
A factory-new AWP Medusa will cost £2,150.
Closing out our main list of the most expensive AWP skins in CS2 is the AWP Desert Hydra.
Also known as the 'budget Dragon Lore', the AWP Desert Hydra features a very similar design, with the iconic dragon being replaced by a Hydra from Greek and Roman mythology on top of a similar colour scheme.
The AWP Desert Hydra is popular because it is part of the 2021 Mirage Collection and can be obtained as a souvenir drop at Majors.
A factory-new AWP Desert Hydra will set you back £2,100.
Although our main list of the most expensive AWP skins in CS2 features skins that all cost upwards of £2,000, there are many cheaper options for AWP skins in CS2.
Still very expensive, with each of them costing upwards of £100, they do offer more affordable options for high-quality AWP skins in CS2.
