BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 is just a few weeks away and we're in Showdown qualifier season.
Timbermen, Rare Atom, Imperial, and SAW already booked their places in the Showdown and now Swedish team Metizport have joined them by securing a win at the RES Western Europe Masters.
They needed to beat the two favourites in order to qualify for the Showdown - how did they get there?
Metizport kicked off their event with a 13-5 win against Brazilain giants FURIA. A huge upset victory, they put the hurt on the Brazilians as susp, adamb, and nilo all starred on Ancient.
They followed that up with a loss against Apeks, but booked their playoffs place by beating FURIA 13-5 again - this time on Mirage. A team performance the second time around, it was AWPer jackinho who top-fragged with 15 kills.
Metizport opened their semi-final match with a 13-11 loss to Sprout on Inferno, but made light work of them in the following two maps. 13-6 on Mirage and then 13-3 on Vertigo. nilo starred in the BO3, he picked up 48 kills to secure his team their place in the grand final.
The grand final would see a rematch between Apeks and Metizport, and this time, Metizport wouldn't let the BLAST.tv Paris Major semi-finalists get the better of them.
Kicking it off with a 13-6 win on Mirage, nilo's 21 kills put Metizport firmly in the driver's seat. Apeks battled back on Ancient though, they took the map 13-11 thanks to a monstrous 29-16 performance from veteran rifler jkaem.
Metizport secured their place in the Spring Showdown on Inferno. Another dominant display, they won 13-6 thanks to 25 kills from adamb.
BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 kicks off on March 6th. 16 teams will battle it out for the final two places at BLAST Premier Spring Final in London, which is set to take place in June.
