NRG won the Ace North American Masters Fall to qualify for BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, however, they will no longer be attending the event.
Due to their withdrawal, M80 will replace them in the Showdown. This is because M80 were the second-placed team in the Ace North American Masters.
M80 will be a dangerous prospect in the Showdown, they have already impressed on the international circuit with a strong showing at ESL Pro League Season 19.
However, they will compete in the Showdown without their Pro League star malbsMd, as he has recently joined G2 after the benching of nexa.
Although they have not yet announced a replacement for the Guatemalan, Dust2.us has reported that the North American organisation is targeting Carpe Diem star Lake as his replacement.
M80 join an already competitive field in the Showdown, with AMKAL and Zero Tenacity having already qualified through their own regional qualifiers.
There are regional qualifiers still yet to be played, with South America, Asia, and the Nordic region all yet to find their representatives in the Showdown.
The remaining Showdown teams will be made up of the teams who fail to qualify for BLAST Premier Fall Final from BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Only six teams can advance directly to the Final from Groups, meaning that ten will fall down into the Showdown.
Fall Groups is set to take place July 29th-August 4th, while the Fall Showdown will take place between the 21st and 25th of August.
