Liquid looked strong yesterday as they won a close map against Virtus.pro before dominating them on Dust2, but they looked even stronger today as they won a BO3 against the Major champions, NAVI.
Twistzz showed once again that he isn't letting the IGL role shackle him whilst NAF also shined, so let's take a look at the action from the game.
NAVI kicked off Anubis with a pistol round win but a well-timed flank from NAF in round three secured Liquid their first of the map.
The round wasn't enough to give Liquid any real footing in the map, however, and it took another flank from YEKINDAR to get a round on the board at 6-2.
8-4 at the half, Liquid managed to start the second half strong to tie thew game at 8-8 and YEKINDAR was the star again to give his team the lead for the first time in the game.
NAVI had fight left in them though, iM picked up two in Connector to keep the game close.
And then it was NAF's turn to shine again, he picked up two and a half with his trusty MAC-10 to take the game away from NAVI.
13-11 when all was said and done, NAF and YEKINDAR opened up the series with an incredible 24 and 23 kills apiece.
With such a close first map you'd be forgiven for expecting the same out of the second, but NAVI absolutely blitzed Liquid 13-2 on Mirage to keep themselves in the series.
The Major winners got off to a great start with a 5-0 lead, but Twistzz and NAF were on hand to get Liquid their first on their CT side.
It mattered for little, however, and w0nderful had a great second half pistol round to take the game even further away from Liquid at 11-2.
13-2 the final score, w0nderful and b1t were constant threats as the Ukrainian duo recorded 37 kills between them.
NAVI were once again rampant at the start of map three and you can see why when NAF was whiffing like this.
Twistzz soon got his team firing, however, he picked up three to defend the B site to secure a fourth Liquid round.
Liquid soon had the scores tied at 8-8 and a clutch from the new boy ultimate gave them the lead.
He even clutched up again in the next round, going one better as he picked up a 1v3 to secure a tenth for his team.
NAVI weren't out for the count just yet though, w0nderful kept them in the game at 12-9 with a quick kill onto NAF in the 1v1.
Incredibly close until the final round of the game, it took an impressive all-or-nothing call from Twistzz to go back to the A site to secure the series for Liquid without a need for OT.
