We're now onto day four of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024 and kicking us off is Liquid vs GamerLegion.
GamerLegion pulled off a huge upset in their opening game, taking down FaZe in a hard-fought 2-0. As for Liquid, they faced an even tougher battle against a combative Spirit team.
Let's see how the two teams got on when they faced each other.
GamerLegion started strongest on Overpass with a pistol win, and after five rounds they had a one-round advantage with the score 3-2.
That being said, it didn't take long for the game to swing in Liquid's favour, they won every round in the remainder of the first half.
The game remained in Liquid's favour, despite GamerLegion winning the second pistol. Liquid won their responding force buy, and GamerLegion registered just one more round all half as the map ended 13-5 thanks to Twistzz and NAF combining for 41 kills.
Liquid's pick of Mirage was a much more closely contested map, at least for the first half anyway.
It ended 6-6 at the half, partially thanks to this quick double kill by cadiaN.
In truth, Liquid were potentially lucky to be 6-6 at the break. GamerLegion was the more convincing side in the first half, and they could've won more rounds if not for Liquid's star power.
Liquid made sure there was no doubts in the second half though, they dominated after GamerLegion put themselves in the lead through a pistol round that featured this insane kill from volt.
13-7 in the end, that kill from volt was as good as it got for GamerLegion as cadiaN and co. secured their place in the group final.
Now through to the group final, Liquid will await to see who wins in the rematch between GamerLegion and FaZe.
