The Americas RMR was dominated by South American teams, but more surprisingly, the new Team Liquid team didn't manage to secure a spot at the PGL Copenhagen Major.
Following on from the event, we spoke to launders at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 to get his views on the results and the format.
cadiaN said that the team’s current issue is inconsistency, but do you see issues other than that in terms of playstyle or performances?
"YEKINDAR's fragging and cadiaN's all-or-nothing AWP style have led to extremely parabolic stats for him and results for the team. I think of all the new rosters they have made the most changes so it's reasonable to give them "more time" to get better but if YEKINDAR can't get back to his old self while playing important spots the team won't work."
Both JT and cadiaN have complained about the format used for the Americas RMR, what are your thoughts on it?
"Yeah, it's terrible, getting eliminated from 1xbo3 is a joke. Valve also not updating their own ranking before their own major is indefensible. Anyone who thinks that's ok is a secret agent."
NA teams on the whole struggled in the RMR. Is that the result of a gulf that exists between NA and SA or was it just a case of bad timing for a few of the NA teams at the event?
Which team(s) from the Americas RMR do you expect to perform best at the Major?
Complexity and FURIA, simple but expected.
Outside of the Americas, were there any other RMR results that surprised you?
Finally, do you have predictions on A. Who the two teams will qualify for Spring Final will be and B. Who the winner of the Major will be?
BLAST ApS., Hauser Plads 1, 3., 1127 Copenhagen
