BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 is set to kick off today and is set to provide us with five full days of exciting Counter-Strike action.
As always, there are a host of top teams competing in the event, with two of our Spring Finalists, FaZe and Virtus.pro, both needing to put up big performances if they hope to be at BLAST Premier Fall Final in Copenhagen.
With so many strong teams in the event, it can be hard to get to grips with how to view the teams going into it, so we asked Jacky to give his thoughts on some of the biggest stories surrounding the squads as we head into the event.
I’d like to think FaZe have it in them but I’ve always thought that their best flavour of CS in on LAN feeding the energy of the moment, with them looking burned out and like things haven’t clicked into place after having time to rest and readjust I’m worried for them.
Burn out and a change of play styles among the team, I think they haven’t had the time needed to rebuild and redesign the play book and that it feels like the style of CS that was working so well for them is starting to be left behind as CS2’s aggressive nature develops.
I think M80 will have some surprises up their sleeves but losing malbs will be a hard hit to the squad. Let’s hope there’s a new doctor in the house.
Something feels like it’s just not clicking right now, I’d hope there’s room for the wings to spread again.
I always hope to see BIG show some potential firepower, so I would love to see them bring the claws out.
It just feels like the VP project is stuck finding its new identity and has contrasting ideas on how the best way to drive the ship forward is.
It’s a shame as C9 were such an exciting prospect not too long ago, but I’m not sure how this roster will do.
It’s always a shame when visa issues plague a teams ability to grow together, so for them, I'd love to see some of that classic degster on the server.
Oh I think so, this team looks really drilled and even with outside issues causing them to field subs or having to roll with the punches it feels like they always deliver.
