Group B is now underway at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024 and its opening game has given us the biggest upset victory of the event thus far.
A hard-fought 2-0 victory for GamerLegion, they took down the titans of FaZe 2-0 with wins on Overpass and Ancient.
After the game, we spoke to GamerLegion star isak about the win and level we should expect from GamerLegion now they've had more time with Snax.
Congratulations on the victory, how are you feeling right now?
It feels nice to come into the new year with a victory, and versus FaZe they're one of the best teams in the world so it feels very nice.
You had a tough end to 2023, what did you do to improve coming into the new season?
We just had to reset mentally from ground zero. Even if we won six tournaments last year - which we obviously didn't - we still have to come into the new year fully reset, every game is 0-0, and we had to reset every stat on every map and go from there.
You've had some time now with Snax, do you think you're at full strength now or do you still need more time?
I don't think we're at our full strength yet, we've done some role swaps on some maps so everyone has to get comfortable in those and then we can start to develop even further. Hopefully, we'll be in much better shape for the RMR, but right now we're working very hard.
Kicking it off with a win is a very strong start, but what are your ambitions for the rest of the event?
Making it to Spring Final would be very nice, but we have to take it one game at a time. No game is going to be easy, so we just have to do our best.
