Heroic eliminated from Spring Groups at the hands of BIG

BIG and Heroic both struggled in their opening games in Group D, so it was anyone's guess as to who was going to be able to get the win when the two teams faced off.

An intense three maps with two overtimes, let's take a look at the action.

Map one - Vertigo (BIG's pick)

We got off to a flyer on Vertigo, tabseN opened up the A site with a clean 4k.

They converted into a three-round lead, but Heroic quickly got on the board and sjuush helped out big time in that streak as he locked off the B Stairs.

BIG got back on the board with a partial buy, their pistols proved too strong for Heroic to retake the A site.

7-5 at the half, BIG quickly swung the map in their favour with a five-round flurry at the start of the second half. tabseN was huge in that streak, he clutched up on a B site retake.

It was Heroic's IGL who shined next though, kxysan picked up two quick kills on the A site to prevent another clutch from BIG.

Next, it was Nertz's time to shine, he clutched up in a 1v1 vs mantuu.

Sadly for Heroic, they couldn't win every post-plant situation, and s1n forced overtime with a retake in the final round of regulation.

It mattered for little though, Heroic won four rounds straight in overtime to take the map 16-12.

Map two - Nuke (Heroic's pick)

BIG captain tabseN once again came up BIG in the early rounds of Nuke, he pulled off an ace on round two to prevent Heroic from pulling off a force-buy win as they swarmed the B site.

It was the turn of BIG's star Krimbo to give his team the advantage at the half, however, he held his nerve to stick the defuse against Nertz.

s1n got in on the action next, cutting down Heroic players from behind the Silo as they attempted to retake B.

A strong team performance from BIG, they kept the series alive with a 13-9 scoreline.

Map three - Anubis (Decider)

Heroic started strongest on Anubis with three T side round wins. BIG fought back, but Heroic kept the scores tied after turning round this 2v4 situation.

BIG hit back in the early stages of the second half, rushing B to embarrass Heroic by winning what was basically a full eco.

They might've got a bit excited as a result though, we're still not quite sure what tabseN was attempting in this round.

With overtime once again on the cards, sjuush unexpectedly fried with the AWP to prevent another whitewash.

It wasn't enough, however, and BIG kept pushing to eliminate Heroic with a 16-14 scoreline.

What's next for BIG?

BIG will now face Cloud9 for a spot in the Group D final.
