If cadiaN being benched by heroic wasn't crazy enough for you, how about the news that stavn and jabbi have been too?
In a crazy turn of events, the Danish team have just announced that stavn and jabbi will also be taking a spell on the sidelines in what is an explosive statement.
The statement states that the duo "initiated a push to replace cadiaN" and that "if Heroic let cadiaN go, they would extend their contracts", but that ultimately, when those contracts were presented, stavn and jabbi had "made future plans with Astralis".
The news of the duo even attempting to leave the team comes as a huge surprise, especially considering the length of time stavn has been part of the organisation. Having joined way back in 2020, he is the longest-serving member of the team and was part of the team that rapidly rose to the top during the online era.
Jibbi joined much later, just before IEM Cologne 2022, after huge success at Majors with Copenhagen Flames.
Together alongside cadiaN, TeSeS, and sjuush, Heroic won both BLAST Premier Fall Final 2022 and BLAST Premier Spring Final 2023, as well as finishing runners-up at the IEM Rio Major and IEM Katowice 2023.
It's currently unclear who will be replacing them, or if anyone will be at all. The statement continues to say that their benching is only short-term and that the ambition is to "bring stavn and jabbi back".
That being said, the team are currently playing in the Roobet Cup with sirah and Chr1zN, who are both current members of MOUZ NXT.
Any solution will have to come soon though, the roster lock for BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023 is less than a week away.
