HEROIC bench nicoodoz
HEROIC have announced the benching of their AWPer, nicoodoz.
The change has been rumoured heavily in the past week and reports have suggested that degster may be coming in to replace him.
nicoodoz hadn't been on the HEROIC team for very long having only signed in December after starring for Preasy.
"We need a player dedicated to the AWP"
nicoodoz's benching appears to be motivated by his tendency to play as more of a hybrid than a true AWPer.
HEROIC Director of Esports Robin Nymann had this to say about the benching:
"Throughout the past four months, it has become apparent to both Nico and the team that his strengths on the server are not aligned with the team’s needs; we need a player who is dedicated to the AWP in a more traditional way. It's our belief that Nico has much more to give, and within the right system, he will be able to unlock his full potential. We will continue to support Nico as he moves to the bench, and assist him in finding a new home."
The necessity of needing a more traditional AWPer was also alluded to by nicoodoz on Twitter, with him also making a joke about the expected nature of his benching in true nicoodoz fashion.
