G2 dominate map three to push past FaZe

G2 have continued their strong start to the second half of the year with a confident win against FaZe.

9-0 up on map three, they showed that reaching the EWC wasn't anything to do with a honeymoon period as they put themselves within touching distance of Fall Final.

FaZe take Ancient

G2 got off to a strong start on Ancient by winning the pistol round but they couldn't convert the next as rain took headshot after headshot on B.

7-5 at the half, rain kept up his form across the first half, topping the server with 14 kills.

It wasn't too long before FaZe were able to claim map point, ropz got three from Doughnut in the post plant on A.

FaZe converted the map point to a map win, closing out map one 13-9.

G2 answer back on Nuke

Everything was going right for G2 in the opening rounds of Nuke, just look how NiKo managed to take ropz down in round five.

Kills like this set up G2 for a 9-3 half with malbsMd closing out the CT side with an incredible 17 kills.

FaZe attempted to comeback, they won three rounds in a row to kick off their own CT side thanks to rain rounds like this.

But what can you do when malbsMd is doing things like this?

13-6 when all was said and done, malbsMD was incredible as he ended map two 21-8.

G2 fry on CT side Mirage

The first half of Mirage was an absolute whitewash with FaZe completely powerless to do anything on their T side.

To put it into context, the IEM Chengdu winners were only able to plant the bomb once in the first nine rounds and that was on pistol.

They did eventually get some rounds on the board, however, but it did take a 1v3 from broky so get those three rounds at the end of the half.

That didn't stop confidence from being high in G2 though, m0NESY even stopped playing Counter-Strike in the second half pistol round and decided to try his hands at Assassin's Creed.

G2 secured map point off the back of that pistol round win but FaZe did then pull three back of their own. That was as good as it got, however, NiKo, huNter-, and m0NESY made sure the game ended early at 13-6.
