Day five of BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 was semi-final day, and we opened the day with the first of two semi-finals that would decide the remaining teams who would be heading to the event in Copenhagen at the end of next month.
Kicking us off was FaZe vs OG, a game with a clear favourite, and that favourite didn't disappoint.
OG may have won the opening pistol round on Dust2, but FaZe quickly turned it around as ropz and frozen shut down a B site execute with just pistols.
Their captain karrigan then picked up a very easy ace just two rounds later, he mowed down all five with an AUG as they tried to exit the Long Doors.
FaZe quickly took control of the game from there, dropping just one more round as they raced to a 7-3 lead.
It was then rain's turn to pull off a highlight play, he used his veteran instincts to catch Chr1zN out on Short.
9-3 at the half, OG tried to mount a comeback in the second half, but the deficit proved to be too much to claw back and they fell 13-8.
Ancient saw OG pick up yet another pistol round win, a 100% record for the series until that point.
FaZe once again clawed the game back to 2-2 and almost found a third in spectacular fashion as broky got way too close to an insane 1v4.
FaZe kept OG on their toes their whole time, ropz also came close to a clutch in round eight.
6-6 at the half, FaZe finally won a pistol round, and at 8-6, ropz finally got his clutch moment with an absurd ten-second defuse on B.
That round broke OG, they won just two more rounds as they fell 13-8 and FaZe secured their spot at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024.
