FURIA survive derby battle against Legacy to advance to Showdown semis
In the second derby of the day from our BLAST Premier Fall Americas Showdown, FalleN took on coldzera as FURIA faced their Brazilian rivals Legacy.
The only full best of three of the day, there was up and downs for both teams in what ended up being a rollercoaster of a game in which FURIA ended up on top.
With three maps to get through, let's run you through all the action.
FURIA's T side nets them Overpass
Legacy picked the first map, and they decided to take us to Overpass. A decision that seemed wise at first, they led 8-7 at the break thanks to an incredible 21-7 half from youngster dumau.
Despite then winning the second pistol round, FURIA quickly wrestled back control of the map with a strong T side of their own. A better team performance than Legacy's T side, arT was the star as he turned around a poor first half to get 12 kills and take FURIA to a 16-13 victory.

By round ten of map two, Legacy had a solid hold on the game as they were 8-2 up on their CT side. All of Legacy were strong, but it was the trio of latto, coldzera, and NEKIZ who starred as they ended the half with 14, 13, and 13 kills respectively.
Things began to look shaky for Legacy as they gave FURIA a route back into the game and the half ended 9-6. With the teams trading rounds in the second half, they made it all the way to 14-14 before Legacy wrestled back control.
It was latto and nqz who made the difference in the end. The duo added 11 kills each to their totals to help push their team to a 16-14 win.

Overpass wasn't the only map decided by the T side of FURIA. Leading 8-7 at half time, FalleN and the boys went on a eight round winning streak after losing pistol and the conversion to close out the game 16-9.
yuurih impressed in both halves. His 14 kills on both attack and defence secured him a 1.75 HLTV rating and made him comfortably the top fragger.
As for Legacy, while nqz and latto fell limp, it was NEKIZ who stepped up to become their only player to end with 20 kills. Not enough to claim the derby victory, FURIA will now advance to the semi finals.
