Today is derby day for the BLAST Premier Fall Americas Showdown, and we kicked that off with a clash between two NA teams, Complexity and Evil Geniuses.
Two teams that have been vying for the title of the best team in their region since the departure of Liquid, it was Complexity who drew first blood following a disappointing collapse by EG on map two.
A close series despite the 2-0 in favour of Complexity, let's take you through the action.
Evil Geniuses picked Inferno, and despite losing the opening pistol, they still started brightly as they closed out the first five rounds with a 4-1 lead. The half ended 8-7 in EG's favour, and HexT was a key part of that as he popped off with an 18-12 statline.
The young Canadian dropped off in the second half though, he managed just five kills as Complexity secured the map 16-14.
floppy was the star for Complexity in the second half, his 16 T side kills took his tally for the game to 26.
Going into Overpass, EG looked to be in a favourable position to trade map picks as they recorded a 12-3 CT half. junior, autimatic, and Jeorge all performed well, they picked up 15, 13, and 17 kills respectively.
As for their T side, they were comparatively woeful. Picking up just two rounds, their highest fragging player was autimatic, who managed 11 kills in the second half and still went negative.
Complexity secured the map 16-14 thanks to 20 frags from EliGE, the veteran NA player showed his class as he consistently stopped the EG attack in it's tracks.
