Continuing our trend of 2-0s so far in BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, Cloud9 took down Movistar Riders following a 16-11 on Ancient and a 16-7 on Inferno.
A comfortable with for the Russian superteam, the Spaniards of Movistar Riders were powerless to prevent their rivals from rolling them over and moving onto the semi finals.
A game that showed the gulf that just four places on the HLTV ranking can have, let's take you through the action.
Movistar Riders' map pick, the Iberians started on the back foot as they lost the opening pistol round. Despite this, they managed to pull back a respectable score in the half as they won seven T side rounds. mopoz was the main driving force for them in that first half, he was the only member of the Riders team to reach double figures in kills in the opening fifteen rounds.
Cloud9 finished the first half strong with three straight round wins. Perfecto and electroNic had been the clear stars for their new team during that first half, the former NAVI duo earned themselves 18 and 12 kills respectively. Their fine form continued into the second half too, electroNic added another ten kills to his name while Perfecto extended his tally to 29.
adamS stepped up for Riders on their CT side, but he wasn't enough as sh1ro's 14 T side frags made him the third Cloud9 to get above 20 kills and the Russian team closed out the game 16-11.
sh1ro's second half momentum on Ancient carried into the second map, he finished the game with 21 kills as Cloud9 raced to an easy 16-7 victory on their map pick.
electroNic also continued strong, the Cloud9 captain was one half of an effective rifle duo with H0bbit on the T side as they consistently cut open the Movistar Riders defence and earned themselves 27 kills combined in the process.
adamS and Martinez tried their best to prevent Cloud9's T side from getting out of hands, but with ten kills each, it wasn't enough to prevent the Russians from recording an 11-4 half.
Cloud9 extended their lead with a win in the second pistol round. Movistar Riders responded instantly, their win in the subsequent force buy gave the momentary illusion they could mount a comeback. Cloud9 quickly got back on the board however, and they closed out the map 16-7 following a three round win streak.
