In the first of our BLAST Premier Fall European Showdown semi finals, German team ENCE pulled off an upset victory on ENCE with a clean 2-0.
BIG were the beaten finalists at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown this year, and will not get a second chance at securing qualification to a BLAST Premier Final this year.
A relatively comfortable win for BIG, let's take you through the action.
Ancient has been a strong map for BIG since their roster revamp in the off-season, so it's no surprise that they picked it against ENCE. Once again it paid off, the score finished 16-9 after BIG opened proceedings with a 10-5 T half.
Long-standing member tabseN was the star on that T side, he picked up 15 kills and a 1.65 HLTV rating in the fifteen rounds. s1n and Krimbo both also had huge impacts, the young stars both pulled off 1v2 clutches on the T side.
A team performance by BIG, every player on the team went positive on the first map. s1n and tabseN reigned supreme by the end, the calling duo ended the game with 21 and 22 kills respectively.
As for ENCE, it was quite the opposite. Not a single player finished with even a neutral KD, and Snappi in particular struggled as he limped to just seven kills in 25 rounds.
Anubis as a similar story for the German side. Once more they started out with a strong T side, this time ending 9-6, and s1n took over as the star as he ended the half 17-10.
It was s1n's performances overall that guided BIG to victory in the series, he extended his kill total to 22 in the second half to round off at 43 in the series. Another strong performance by the German side, every player had at least a neutral KD on their way to a 16-10 win.
ENCE did fare slightly better on map two, SunPayus managed to end positive with a 22-18 statline. The rest of the team struggled however, and it was dycha who bottom fragged with just eight kills.
