With three new players stepping into their ranks and an IGL who had not played since February, it was always obvious that OG weren't going to come into BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 in the best shape we will ever see them in.
A team that showed more promise than fans and experts alike gave them credit for prior to the event, while they will be disappointed with their failure to win a game, they should leave Copenhagen feeling optimistic about their future as a roster.
Handed a horrible group as they would be due to face off against G2, Team Liquid, and FaZe Clan, it was the latter of the three that OG would first fall victim to.
Mostly thanks to regali, they managed to keep their own map pick of Inferno close. The Romanian AWPer amassed 27 kills, the only player on the team to go positive, but as ropz also started the series strong, OG would eventually fall 16-14.
Mirage was more comfortable for FaZe. A 16-9 victory, it was the turn of Twistzz and broky to put in star performances and end the series in two.
Having fallen into the lower bracket, OG would go on to face G2 in their following game. A dominant performance by the winners of IEM Katowice, OG never even had a chance to get going in the series.
With two 16-6 losses on Ancient and Inferno, every player on the team struggled against the might of the wunderkind m0NESY and rifle core of NiKo, huNter-, and jks.
Their final game, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of BIG, is where we got a better idea of the team's current level. A game that could have easily gone either way, it took both tabseN and s1n stepping up to swing the match in the favour of the German team.
OG's main worries will be the struggles faced by nexa throughout the event, as well as the need to find more consistency from FASHR, however the showings from k1to, F1KU, and regali should leave them with a sense of optimism. It's too early to judge this team, but they will be a dangerous prospect by the time Fall Showdown comes around.
