Valve have shipped yet another update to Counter-Strike 2 and it's fair to say that some people aren't happy about it.
There are some smaller changes, such as the sound falloff distance for knife impacts and swishing sounds, but also some bigger ones that will have big impacts on how you play the game.
With one of those bigger changes causing some problems in the eyes of the community, let's get into them and the solution that people have already found to get around the change.
One feature of the update that hasn't received criticism is the addition of a new sound when the bomb timer has just ten seconds left before detonation.
Previously players would require an audio queue from their music kit via the ten-second warning to know when the bomb was close to detonation, but now they will also be able to tell due to the sound of the bomb timer changing.
A similar change to the one that gave a bomb planted on the B site a different sound, it will help players to understand just how close they are to being blown sky-high.
The more controversial change is one that is affecting people's jumping binds.
In the patch notes, the update reads: "Command aliases now leverage subtick accuracy." but what does that mean? Thankfully, we have EliGE on hand to help us understand.
"With alias WASD keys, we had consistent movement after 1st tick. Now after this update it can register movement anywhere between 1 tick and 20 Worse for all now" - EliGE, via Twitter
As you can see from this launders tweet, it makes jumping inconsistent, which can be a huge problem for landing even the most basic jump throw smokes, such as the Mirage window smoke.
Originally thought to have no fix, it was our Canadian maestro that found a workaround, which you can find and implement into your game here.
