It may only be day two of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024 but we already have the first team eliminated.
With NIP and Complexity both losing yesterday it was them who would face off for their lives in the tournament, and unfortunately, one of the two teams will be leaving Copenhagen bitterly disappointed with their time here.
Let's get into the action.
In their game against NAVI, Complexity were twice disappointed by dropping big leads to their opponents.
They needn't worry about that this time around though - NIP started the game with four straight round wins.
However, it wasn't long before Complexity got on the board, and when they did, the rounds kept coming.
With Complexity firmly in the driving seat going into the half, it was down to their captain JT to pull off an incredible 4k to take his team into the break with an 8-4 lead.
NIP didn't take long to get back into the game on their CT side, tying up the scoreline and eventually taking the lead as they swarmed the B site on a retake.
Complexity responded well to halt the NIP momentum, but it mattered for little as k0nfig continued his strong game with a 1v2 in round 19.
It was the round that broke Complexity, and they didn't pick up another before NIP secured their 13th to close out map one 13-9. k0nfig topped the scoreboard with 21 kills, but it was a real team effort that got NIP over the line.
Momentum carried over on map two as NIP opened up Ancient with a CT side pistol win. Complexity executed on A, and they had es3tag to thank for sending them to an early grave.
Although Complexity managed to get a few rounds on the board in the first half, their T side ultimately fell flat as NIP went into the break with a 9-3 lead. Once again, k0nfig was the star, he ended the half 15-5.
Complexity started the second half the brightest with a pistol round win of their own, but it was REZ who put NIP back on top with a round-saving play as the AKs came out.
Just like on map one, Complexity were broken by the loss in the 1v2, and they failed to get another round as NIP closed out the map and series with a 13-5 scoreline.
NIP will now face G2 in Group C's consolidation final.
As for Complexity, they will be departing Copenhagen knowing they will have to run the gauntlet in Spring Showdown if they are to feature at Spring Final in London.
