It's Counter-Strike awards season, and it's time for us at BLAST to look back at 2023 and celebrate the best of 2023.
For our 2023 awards, we have eight categories coming your way.
To find our winners for each award, we have enlisted the help of six of our most knowledgeable talent members and the BLAST.tv editorial team will also have a vote as well.
So, with that said, who was the best Counter-Strike player of 2023?

"It's ZywOo, without a doubt. It's not been a competition at all, s1mple hasn't been here this year and no one else comes close. NiKo, with the start he's had in CS2 compared to ZywOo, no, so it's ZywOo and no one else."

"I think we all know who it's going to be. It was kind of up for debate towards the beginning of CS2, but I think we've all now had our questions answered towards the end of World Final especially, it has to be ZywOo, for everyone. Picking up four trophies, an MVP at the Major as well, he's been dominating and was the absolute master of CS:GO towards the end. Finally, he found his cultural impact, I'm going to have to with ZywOo, he just keeps going above and beyond."

"It's got to be ZywOo, it has to be. He lifted the only Major trophy of the year, and looks really good in CS2 despite being shaky at IEM Sydney, it has to be him."

"It's got to be ZywOo, I don't think there's any other way around it. I'm not even sure who would be in second place for this, to be honest. I just feel like ZywOo deserves it, he beat s1mple this time, s1mple fell off a bit, so ZywOo."

"ZywOo and it isn’t close this year with s1mple going out of the running early on with the international change of NAVI and the amount that Vitality has won, ZywOo put his best foot forward and has continued to do it in CS2. This would mean his third number one on top of his two number two rankings in the world putting him equal with s1mple. Let’s hope we get them both going toe to toe again in 2024."

"Okay, we know it's a boring vote this year, ZywOo has been nearly flawless. So how about a curveball to end the voting for the best Counter-Strike player of 2023?
We want to say Snappi for his achievements with ENCE this year, but ENCE already had a strong core from 2023. Instead, we're going to go with siuhy.
siuhy took GamerLegion to a place they had no business being at the BLAST.tv Paris Major with their run to the Grand Final and to top it all off, he then won ESL Pro League Season 18 with MOUZ. Transforming MOUZ from struggling youngsters to title contenders is incredibly impressive and he deserves recognition for that."

With six votes to one, it's clear who the recipient of the best Counter-Strike player of 2023 award is. ZywOo has had an incredible year picking up the MVP award at all five of the tournaments he won and, after this year, will now truly be in GOAT conversations with s1mple.
