BLAST Premier Spring Groups is often a proving ground for new teams, and that seems to be the case once again as Astralis has just taken down Vitality with a 2-1 scoreline.
Miss the action? Let's get you all caught up.
Astralis started strongest on their map pick thanks to this 1v2 clutch from Staehr.
Despite the clutch, Vitality answered back with a five-round winning streak, and it took blameF to cut down mezii in a 1v1 in order for Astralis to get back into the game.
Astralis were more comfortable from that point on but still went into the break 7-5 down. It wasn't long before they go themselves in the lead though, they picked up three quick rounds following aa second pistol round win.
Vitality got themselves back into the lead with three rounds of their own, but Astralis then wrestled back control through the exploits of blameF and stavn to take the map 13-10.
With Vitality down, it was important for them to get off to a good start on their own map pick. They did so with a 2-0 start, but it wasn't long before they found themselves 3-2 down.
When you're on a bad run you need your stars to get firing, and both Spinx and ZywOo did so as they combined for 24 kills in the first half.
First it was ZywOo defending A and almost hitting a clean wallbang -
Then it was Spinx holding the line on the B site to help secure a 7-5 lead.
Astralis got themselves another pistol round win to kick off the second half, but they were quickly put in their place by the world's number on team. ZywOo again was the star, he took down Astralis' two heavy-hitters with a 1v2 in the post-plant on B.
Part of a six-round winning streak to close out the map 13-6, ZywOo added another 11 kills to his tally to take it to 23 in order to force a deciding map.
Just like map two ended with a six-round winning streak, map two began with one - this time going the way of Astralis on their CT side.
device was a key player in that run, he picked up three in the Toilets in quick succession on round three.
Vitality attempted to fight back, but jabbi was having none of it.
Even ZywOo couldn't prevent Astralis from walking all over Vitality.
9-3 down at the half, coach XTQZZZ had some wise words for his team before the second half began.
Sadly though, those words mattered for very little, and the trio of device, blameF, and stavn secured the map with a 13-4 scoreline for their league.
