Swedish organisation NIP have taken another step away from their national heritage by announcing the benching of 21-year-old rifler Brollan.
The move comes just days after they announced the benching of now former IGL hampus and the end of the Swedish core they reformed in June.
Brollan's permanent replacement is yet to be announced, however, NIP have said that Young Ninjas player maxster will continue to stand-in for them in the meantime, as he has been during the Roobet Cup and Thunderpick World Championship.
Brollan joined NIP in March 2022 from fnatic for a reported $600,000 fee. One of the most exciting young players in Sweden, the view at the time was that he could help turn the team's fortunes around following the struggles with device and roster instability.
Unfortunately, Brollan's addition failed to aid NIP's struggles, and despite his 1.11 2022 HLTV rating being very slightly higher than the 1.10 HLTV rating he achieved the year prior, NIP still failed to settle their roster and deep tournament runs continued to be hard to come by.
During his time with NIP, Brollan's best prominent event placing came at the PGL Antwerp Major where the team placed 5th-8th.
This was a placing they almost matched at the BLAST.tv Paris Major, but were eliminated at the final hurdle by Apeks in the Legends Stage.
There was one offline tournament win for Brollan in NIP: Global Esports Tour Dubai in June 2022.
