Orgless team Forsaken has overcome some of North America's most potent teams to qualify for Fall Showdown with their victory at Ace Masters.
The stanislaw-led team wasn't labelled as either an underdog or favourite before the event by GrimyRannarr, but strong performances saw them take home the crown despite having to play supposed favourites Nouns.
"Even though Nouns have been struggling with a five that works for them, they have to be the favourites.
After their bootcamp in Europe which they obtained by winning the cash cup circuit. They will be looking to come into this qualify and secure themselves in the second international tournament in recent history." - GrimyRannarr
A relatively new team coached by NA legend Warden, Forsaken would feature in a group with Wildcard, Zomblers, and a Bad News Bears team that has recently been bolstered by the return of steel from VALORANT.
Having opened with a 19-17 Inferno victory against Bad News Bears in which former Evil Geniuses player wiz starred with a 1.44, Forsaken qualified from their group with a 16-8 victory against Wildcard in the winners match.
Nouns were set to be Forsaken's opponent in the semi-finals, and given their position as favourites, it was set to be a tough game for the team.
Nouns claimed map one, a 16-10 win on Mirage, but were powerless as Forsaken responded with a 16-9 win on Overpass and a 16-12 win on Inferno in the decider.
With the favourites now dispatched, it was time for Forsaken to face off against Party Astronauts for their spot at Fall Showdown.
Starting out with a 19-15 victory on Overpass, both stanislaw and infinite claimed 31 kills as they closed out their close-fought map pick. Their opponent's map pick of Nuke was less competitive, Forsaken closed it out 16-7 thanks to an 11-4 CT half.
Forsaken will now attend Fall Showdown when it begins on October 4th. There, they will face off against Brazilian giants FURIA and Imperial and Liquid, Complexity, and Evil Geniuses, who all dropped down having failed to qualify on BLAST.tv.
