If you're jumping back into The Division 2 and looking to check out the new Battle for Brooklyn DLC, you’re not alone.
A lot of players are wondering how to start the new content, especially with some confusion around the editions and who gets what. Here’s a straightforward guide on how to access the DLC without any fluff.
Yes. Even if you bought the Ultimate Edition of The Division 2 a long time ago, it does not include the new Battle for Brooklyn DLC. That version was tied to older expansions like Warlords of New York.
To play the new DLC, you’ll need to purchase it separately. It’s available in two options: the standard DLC or the Deluxe edition. Both give you access to the same story missions, so just choose whichever fits your budget.
If you’re a new player, there’s a newer Ultimate Edition available that includes all past and current expansions, including Battle for Brooklyn. That version is more cost-effective than buying everything one by one.
Once you’ve bought the DLC, open the game and load into your saved character. Head to the White House, which is your main base in Washington, DC. Outside in the garden area, you’ll find a helicopter and an NPC called the New York Pilot. Talk to this NPC.
You’ll see an option to travel to either New York (for the Warlords of New York DLC) or Brooklyn (for the new DLC). If you haven’t finished the first DLC, the game might ask you to complete that before starting Brooklyn. If you're good to go, select Brooklyn.
After you confirm, a cutscene will play showing your character flying off in the helicopter. There’s a known loading screen bug here, so just hang tight if it feels stuck. Once it loads, you’ll land in Brooklyn and start the first mission of the new campaign.
If your character is below level 40, don’t worry. The game will automatically boost your level when you start the Battle for Brooklyn DLC. You’ll also get a set of gear that includes Superior and High-End weapons and armor.
This is important because all enemies in the new zone are level 40 and use stronger tech like the Purple Flame, which damages your armor more quickly.
The Battle for Brooklyn DLC is available on all major platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
