Kitsunebi squads
Kitsunebi squads are the most consistent way I have found to farm Sakura keys. These enemies spawn randomly while you are exploring the open world. You do not need to activate anything, just step out of a safe area, and they can show up.
Once you clear the full group, you get one Sakura key. There is a cooldown of around 10 minutes before they spawn again, so I usually keep moving across different areas instead of waiting in one spot.
Ronins
Ronins appear as follow-up encounters, and I have seen them spawn right after dealing with Kitsunebi squads. Each Ronin has a chance to drop a Sakura key, so they are not guaranteed, but still worth farming.
When I was playing in a group, I noticed Ronins showed up more often, which made the farming loop faster.
Corrupted Sakura lanterns
Corrupted Sakura lanterns are another source of keys in the open world. These appear naturally as you explore. Interacting with or clearing them adds to your chances of getting Sakura keys.
