Mastery Points are the main resource needed to unlock powerful skills in your mastery trees. This is the most impactful progression system in the game, unlocking access to powerful passive and active abilities.
So how can you get Mastery Points in Assassin's Creed Shadows? There a few different sources, but one stands above the others as the best option for someone looking to rack up points quickly.
Assassin's Creed Shadows gives you Mastery Points from different sources:
Two reminders to add to this information:
You get Mastery Points from enough different sources as to make them very easy to farm passively. Regardless of what you decide to do while playing Assassin's Creed Shadows, you're most likely getting quite a few Mastery Points along the way.
But what if you wanted to actively farm them?
The best way to farm Mastery Points in Assassin's Creed Shadows is clearing Castles and Palaces. These are not only the most efficient way to do so, awarding you with the most Mastery Points per time invested, they're also extremely fun to clear.
As mentioned previously, you get Mastery Points for leveling up, killing Samurai Daisho, and fully clearing a Castle or Palace (essentially looting the Legendary Chest).
Castles and Palaces encapsulate all three of these in an extremely efficient way. Castles will usually house 2 to 3 Samurai Daisho, but they can hold up to 5 or 6. So clearing the Daisho alone is excellent source of Mastery Points.
Additionally, there are a ton of enemies inside these Castles, and you will get a bit of XP out of all of them, and a healthy amount out of Elite enemies and Samurai Daisho.
Once you fully Clear a Castle or Palace, you will get a raw XP reward, likely to level you up at least once, on top of all the XP you got from the enemies already.
On top of this, the clearing rewards also often include Mastery Points, the cherry on top of the cake.
So, as an example, if you clear Osaka Castle at level 9, a very early game location in Assassin's Creed Shadows, you would have to take down 3 Samurai Daisho.
After doing so, you would have access to the legendary chest, which would award you with a legendary armor, 3000XP, and 3 Mastery Points.
So by clearing a single early game Castle, you would've gotten:
With less than an hour invested, Osaka Castle would have given you 7 Mastery Points in the early game. Just clear every Castle you come across in Assassin's Creed Shadows, and you'll never need to worry about Mastery Points again.
