Against the Odds is the opening chapter of 007 First Light. It works as the game's prologue and introduces basic movement, stealth, climbing, and takedown mechanics.

How to complete Chapter 1 Against the Odds in 007 First Light
Reach the beach and avoid enemy patrols
The chapter begins after Bond survives an aerial ambush. Once you gain control, move through the rocks toward the beach and inspect the fallen soldier marked by the blinking red light.
After interacting with the body, enemies will appear nearby. Quickly take cover behind the rocks and wait for them to move away. Continue through the narrow path ahead and stay hidden by using cover whenever possible.
As you move through the tall grass, Bond's radio will start making noise. Follow the prompt to silence it before nearby enemies hear you. Continue through the grass, climb up to the higher section, and watch the radio conversation with the MI6 handler.

Locate the enemy camp
After the cutscene, follow the path ahead and climb the rocky surfaces. Use the ledges to move across gaps and continue through the cave system.
Keep following the linear route until you reach a viewpoint overlooking the enemy camp. This completes the objective and reveals the next area.
Reach the camp
Move along the path leading down toward the camp. Climb the rocks and carefully make your way through the stealth section.
Stay hidden in the tall grass and wait for two guards to leave an area where they are examining an MI6 explosive. Once the path is clear, enter Cabin A2 through the window.
Search Cabin A2
Inside Cabin A2, inspect the following items:
- Open briefcase
- Dead body
- SMG
After examining everything, leave the cabin through the door to continue the investigation.
Search the camp
Head to Cabin A4 and inspect several clues connected to the operation.
The items you need to examine are:
- Torn page
- Lighter
- Rocket launcher on the table
- Radio
- Patch attached to the bag
Once finished, interact with the nearby computer and reverse the BT-65.
Before leaving, pick up the 7 of Acorns collectible card from the shelf near the computer.
Find the antidote
Follow the objective marker into the next section of the camp and inspect the crashed object.
Afterward, move toward the area where two guards are standing. Wait until they leave, then enter the red door nearby.
Go behind the structure and open the green first-aid box. Inside, you will find the antidote. Use it immediately when prompted.
Following the cutscene, take the path on the left and track the guards until you discover the hostages.
Rescue the captives
The camp contains two groups of captives located in Cabin G9 and Cabin B4.
Although either objective can be completed first, rescuing the captives in G9 before B4 is the faster route.
Cabin G9
Enter Cabin F8 and use the ladders to reach the rooftops.
From the top, jump across toward the area near Cabin G9. Drop into the building, eliminate the guard, and take the key from him.
Use the key to unlock the storage door and free the captives.
Cabin B4
After finishing with G9, leave through the nearby exit and return to Cabin F8.
Climb back to the rooftop and jump toward the section near Cabin B4.
Before moving forward, sabotage the ATV brakes. This creates a distraction and pulls enemy attention away from your route.
Move toward Cabin B4 and enter through the window. Take down the guard inside and free the captives.
Do not forget to pick up the detonator from the table before leaving.
Sabotage the support cable
After rescuing the second group of captives, use the ladder that appears nearby to reach the roof.
Interact with the mast wire and sabotage the support cable. This triggers the final escape sequence.
Escape the camp
Enter Cabin C2 and leave through the opposite window to start a cutscene.
You will need to complete several quick-time events:
- Press Q when prompted
- Repeatedly press E
- Use left click to finish the enemy
Once the fight ends, follow your allies toward the extraction point.
A second quick-time event occurs when an enemy attacks using an ATV. Complete the button prompts and continue moving forward.
Follow the objective marker until the final cutscene plays.
